Jimi Tenor seems to be out of place anywhere but on a stage. Skinny, short-sighted and keen on falsetto, the musician is an elusive man of few words who, when he gets on the stage at the Teatro Lope de Vega, turns into the Superman of afrobeat.
Tenor, Monday night’s main music protagonist, fell in love with African rhythms when he was a teenager, but he didn’t develop that passion until he found the Berlin musicians Kabu Kabu, with whom he formed a family on the album Joystone (2007). Now he doesn’t want to be apart from them.

Last night Vicki Bennet wondered if their audience would include, as usual, +50-year-old couples and some female impersonators. And it doesn’t mean that her work is weird. She recovers the past, hidden in old audiovisual archives and tell us how history could have been if people had more humour.
As it turns out, that People Like Us’s concert, closing ZEMOS98’s first night, was full of young Seville boys and girls that wanted to be rude with the remix culture. "Remix is everything", Vicki says. An this is something no-one needs to be told. All our life is just a collage with pieces of our past that we repeat over and over.

Pero anoche el público era mucho más joven, muchas personas atentas dispuestas a ser maleducadas en el arte de la remezcla audiovisual, que es en realidad una remezcla de ideas, una relectura política, una nueva oportunidad vital.
A pesar de tan buena disposición en sus receptores, la artista británica cree que no es necesario educar para el corta y pega creativo, que eso es innato. "Remezclar es todo -dice en una entrevista previa, unas horas antes de su actuación- sólo hay que empezar usando Google, que es por donde yo comienzo a trabajar casi siempre".
